THE SPECIALITIES OF PROJECT

 

This circuit  works as a intelligent controller.  We can say that it is a wise switch whitch automatic controlsthe flow of water tap of wash basin.  It avoids the deses due to dirty hands because you do not touch the water tap.  It also avoids the unessesary flow of water from the tap.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING OF THE PROJECT

 

When we bring over hand under the wash basin it works automatically and water starts flowing.  With over hands there is intruption between IR rays in the project and water starts coming from the tap.  The project is made of IC 555 in the transmitter and receiver.  It works on 5V DC.  IR rays from transmitter goes to the receiver when there is any intruption in between the output of IR sensor becomes low .  The timer of receiver is triggered and water comes for 11 seconds.

 

When output of transmitter goes to the receiver it drives IR LED.  IR LED1 should be towards IR sensor module.  The transmission wave length should be between 900 to 1100 mm.  The sensor module of receiver is made of monostable timer and relay drive.  Sensor module TSOP1738 IR radiation modulates on 38KHz.  When any intruption is there in IR rays the high output becomes low.

 

When there is intruption in IR rays going to receiver the sensor output becomes low.  The output of timer become high for 11 second when IC2 timer is triggered and  relays solenoid gets drive.  The valve on the pipe is energized and water comes from tap.  The solenoid valve as shown in the diagram is for special purpose.

 

The relay drive circuit is made of R8 transistor BC598 T2 and wheeling diode D1.  When relay is the energized the diode D1 protects the relay from high voltage produced by emf.

 

The shield wire is used.  The IR LED and IR sensor are installed at half meter distance in the opposite direction of the wash basin.  The IR rays through IR LED falls on IR sensor from transmission.  When circuit is given power supply and hands are put between IR LED and IR sensor the relay is energized.  It opens the solenoid valves and water starts coming.
