PROJECT SPECIALITIES

This is a wonderful project in the electronic field.  The main attraction of this project is that when brake is applied in a two wheeler vehicle a musical horn is also heard along the brake applied.  This project can be utilized in small  colonies and small towns.  This is specially boon for children and old people because when driver applies the brake the sound is heard at a long distance to the person and he comes to know that a vehicle is coming towards him with a great speed.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING

This project has been developed and tested O.K. in our TV Engineers Technical Lab.  The components and PCB used in the projects published in our books are available for sale at resonable price.

Generally there is a provision of light when brake is applied to the scooter.  This project has been made in a such a way that musical horn starts blowing when brake light is ON.  IC UM66 has been used in this project.  This is a CMOS IC and in it musical notes [ROM] has been programmed.  Oscillator and modulator circuits of this IC have been utilized in this project.  The number of the parts connected to this IC are also very less.  The output of the IC is available on pin no. 1.  Positive supply has been given on pin no. 2 and negative supply has been given to the pin no. 3.  This IC is operated on DC voltages from 6V to 10V.  This supply is given to the bridge rectifier.  The output obtained from the bridge rectifier with the help of transister SL100 and 2N5296 is shaped in to regulated power supply.  By connecting a zeener of 5.6V with the IC, supply is given at less voltage.  The output of the IC amplified with the BC147 and BEL187 is given to the speaker which acts as a musical horn. This project works on the power supply system of the scooter.  Connection for this supply from the scooter is taken from the brake light because there is AC supply system in scooter and we use the bridge rectifier before connecting it to the circuit.  If vehicle is using DC supply  system then use of bridge rectifier is not required. While assembling the circuit use the heat sink with transister 2N5296.

PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING THE PROJECT:-

* While connecting diode take care of its anode and cathode.

* While soldering transister check its base, emitter and collector with the multimeter.

* While checking transister keep away your body from the transister.

* Do not keep the project ON in case of short in the transister.
