2B-FULLY AUTOMATIC WATER LEVEL CONTROLLER
Water tank is a necessity for the factory and residential areas. The overflowing of water tank and increase amount of water bill has become a major problem for the people. This project can help to solve the above problem by controlling water level in the tank automatically.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING
This project has been developed and tested O.K. in our TV Engineers Technical Lab. The components and PCB used in the projects published in our books are available for sale at resonable price.
This project is a boon for house wives. It is a complete circuit of IC4081 consisting AND GATE has been in this project. It senses the water level in the upper tank as well as the lower Tank [SUMP]. Care is to be taken that in case there is no water in SUMP then motor and relay should not operate. Short coming in the earlier circuit was that relay use to operate the motor according to water level in the tank affecting life of both relay and motor. I
n this circuit an inverter has been used along AND GATE. The output of GATE N1 of IC is high when tank is empty and level of water in SUMP is upto level [probe 2] SUMP is filled with upto probe to level. At this position output of AND 2 GATE is low. It makes inverter Q1 in high position. When both inputs of GATE N3 are high then its output is high and brings both Q2 and Q3 [Darlington pair] in conduction mode operating the relay. This relay starts the motor when the water level reaches upto probe to level in the overhead tank. In this condition IC GATE N1 becomes low and relay comes in OFF position. Some time if water level goes below to the probe 1 position then it makes IC GATE N2 high and puts the
relay in OFF position and stops the pump motor.
To run the pump motor f
ollowing are two necessary conditions.
Position 1 [For the over hear tank]:- [a] When water level is less than probe 1 [b] When water level is less than probe 2
Position 2 [SUMP Tank] When water level should not be less than probe 1.
PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING THE PROJECT :-
- Take care of the polarity of the condenser connected at pin no. 6 of IC555.
- Do not touch CMOS IC with bare hands. Because there is possibility due to anti-static charge from human body IC may spoiled. While soldering transistor check its collector, base and emitter with multimeter.
- Pay special attention while soldering diode for its anode and cathode terminal.
- Do not solder IC directly on PCB. There is possibility of parts getting spoiled due to leakage current from soldering Iron.
