PROJECT SPECIALITIES

It is a new gift of electronic world.  You can use it to control any equipment sitting away from that.  It can work as ON / OFF switch without emitting any visible life.  Any two different equipments like TV and Fan placed at the distance of 10 feet can be controlled from this project.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING

This project has been developed and tested O.K. in our TV Engineers Technical Lab.  The components and PCB used in the projects published in our books are available for sale at resonable price.

The ON/OFF Switch normally used [Push Button Type] is becoming out of date due to rapid development in the electronic field.  It is being replaced by the remote control switch.  We have already given one project of Remote Control Switch of single range [Distant 20 feet] in this book. We have modified that circuit and now presenting a double range switch.  Range also increases more than 20 feet.  The project is divided into two parts. One Transmitters, Second is Receiver. When we press the switch S1 in the transmitter section the oscillator output from the IC 555 available on pin no. 3 is given in the base of transistor BC177.  It drives the Infrared LED and Infrared rays are emitted from the transmitter section.  The receiver receives the rays through infrared eyes which is a assembled device.  There are 3 pins on the infrared eyes.  Pin no. 1 gets the positive 5Volt regulated supply.  Second is the output pin and third pin is earth.  The output from the infrared eye triggers the IC 555 connected to the pin no. 2 of the IC555.  Output of the IC is available on pin no. 3.  This is connected to the pin no. 14 of IC 7493.  This IC is a binary counter and its output is available on pin no. 1 and 9 through which two relays can be operated.  One IC 7805 is used to provide regulated 5 Volt supply for the IC and circuit.  Infrared IC is a sensitive part and should not be given more than 5 Volts.

PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING THE PROJECT :-

  1. Do not solder CMOS IC directly on PCB, use IC base.
  2. CMOS IC get spoiled due to anti-static charge. There is possibility of this charge being produced by human body, So do not touch the IC with bare hands.
  3. While soldering transistor check its collector, base emitter with a multimeter.
  4. Take care of the polarity of the condenser connected at pin no. 6 of IC555.
  5. Infrared eye is a sensitive part and its box should not be opened.
  6. While soldering diodes take care for the cathode and anode of the diode.
