PROJECT SPECIALITIES

This project is new gift from electronic age.  You can control any load [ON/OFF] while sitting at a distant place.  This switch works without emitting any light.  This distance covered is upto 10 feet.  You can use it in TV, Fan,Toys etc.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING

 

This project has been developed and tested O.K. in our TV Engineers Technical Lab.  The components and PCB used in the projects published in our books are available for sale at resonable price.

In today’s electronic age the ordinary switches are being used less and less and remote control is being used in big numbers.  In our book Vol. No. 2 we have given the information about the remote control switch of small range.  After making the necessary changes the range of remote switch has been increased up to 20 feet.  This project is divided into two parts.  First part is transmitter section and second part is receiver section.  When we press switch S1 on remote transmission then 555 works as a oscillator and give oscillation pulse on pin no. 3 which is connected to the base of the transister BC177.  The infrared LED connected in the emmiter gives infrared rays.  The other section receives these infrared rays through the infrared eyes.  This infrared eye is a assembled device.

Infrared eye have got three pins. On one pin 5V regulated positive supply is given.  Second is signal output pin and third pin is earth.  The output of infrared eye is given to pin no. 2 of IC555.  It triggers the IC555 and output of 555 IC is available on pin no. 3.  The pulse available on pin no. 3 is given to trigger pin of IC 4027.  IC 4027 is a JK RS Flip-Flop. From its pin no. 1 through transistor BC548 the relay is operated.  The complete circuit is made to operate with five volt regulated through IC 7805.  Infrared Eye is a sensitive electronic device.   There is risk of damage, when the supply is more than 5 volts.

 

PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING THE PROJECT :-

* Use IC Base for a CMOS IC. Never solder CMOS IC directly on PCB.

* CMOS IC gets spoiled due to anti-static charge.  It should not be touched by hand because human body is charged with electric current some times.

* While soldering the transister its base emmiter and collector should be checked with multimeter.

* Takes special care to observe the polarity of the condenser  fixed on pin no. 6 of IC 555.

* IR Eye is sensitive device.  It should not be open from inside.

* While fixing diode take care about its anode and cathode.
