This project is a decorative light project, which can decorate your shops or you can attach to your wall clock to enhance its beauty. Also the temples can be beautifully decorated as it appears two coloured in both the directions.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING

This project has been developed and tested O.K. in our TV Engineers Technical Lab.  The components and PCB used in the projects published in our books are available for sale at resonable price.

In the modern age of Electronics, Disco lights have occupied an important place in the hearts of people. As  L.E.D.s  consume low voltage, you can use these anywhere. This project produces an amazing light even in the darkness of night and with the help of its light, you can attract people towards you. In this project, mainly two IC are used, the first one is the Timer IC 555 while the second one is Counter IC4017. IC 4017 is a Decade Counter. Therefore, we can get 10 outputs from the same. Its output Pins are in sequence of  3, 2, 4, 7, 10, 1, 5, 6, 9 and 11. The clock pulses generated at its output pin no. 3  is applied to trigger Pin no. 14 of IC 4017. Pin no. 14 of IC 4017 thus receives the information and as a result the bi-coloured L.E.D. connected to pin no. 3 of IC glows in one direction i.e in a specific colour.  Again the information returns back glowing in opposite direction and in

 

other colour.  This type of movement of the Bi- coloured L.E.D

 

s appear as a pendulum.

PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING THE PROJECT:-

 

*First of all check all the components as per circuit.

 

 

*Check +ve & -ve terminal of L.E.D. while mounting on PCB.

*Use IC base for mounting of the ICs otherwise IC may damage due to current leakage of solderinf iron.

*Check Dry soldering and short circuit in the board after soldering.

*Pay attention to the wiring and loose connection in project while assembling.
