2B-TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROL
You can use this project as a traffic light controller. This project can also teach the children about traffic rules. I show, you can control the rush of students after the morning prayer.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING
The project has been developed and tested OK at TV Engineers Technical Lab.
This project can make you understand the traffic signals. Here the IC 555 is employed. The IC works as a square wave generator. The IC is widely used and popular one. It works as a mono stable multi vibator. When the IC receives the supply, the square wave the output becomes available at its pin No 3 and a regular inerval pulse becomes available contineously. The time interval can be adjusted by varying the pre set . The pulse is then fed to the pin No 14 (input pin) of IC CD 4017. The IC works as a counter IC. If the relay of green or red light remain ON for four minutes, the relay of yellow light remaining ON for one minute. The diodes connected to the output of the IC divide the output into three places and c
onnect. While assembling the project you can connect the Red and Green light to pin No 3 and 1 respectively. By changing the value of the capacitor connected at pin No 6 and 2 the IC, is increased,time interval will be increased. Similarly if the value is decreased,time interval will be decreased. The relay can be replaced by a Triac which can drive more load.
PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING
1.Take care of the polarity of the transistors while soldering.
2.Use IC Base for mounting IC
3.The relay should be of good a quality.
4.Be careful about the polarity of capacitors and diods while soldering
5.Avoid short circuit while soldering. Clean the space in between the prints poroperly.
6.Check all the components as per the circuit
