This project can not only control the light intensity or spead of your fan but also reduce our electric bill as it reduces consumption. In other such godget(resistive load) full current is consumed.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING
This project has been developed and successfully tested at TV Engineers Technical Lab.
Depending on our requirement we use bulb or tubes in our homes or shops. But using light dimmer we can the day might cycle for example : you can get watt light in the night on 60 w light in the evenin by using the dimmer. The dimmer can also be used in place of your fan regulator. Electicity consumption also reduces by using electronic light dimmer.
The main components of light dimmer is the Triac. Th
e circuit is based on the principle of phase control. The voltage reaches C2 (0.04/4wv) through the variable pot 4 o OK . The capacitor to the diac. When the diac triggers the gate of triac,voltage releases on MT2 and the related gadget starts working.
By rotating the 47K pot, the voltage varies the intensity of the light of the bulb varies. The capacitor c1 (.01/400v) is used to utility the 220v AC main voltage. You can use BC 148 in stead of a diac if it is not available. How ever the base of the transistor should be left free and you need to be careful about the collector/emitter polarities of the transistor.
PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING
1.Check all the components as per the circuit.
2.Be careful in connecting the triac other wise the main fuse of your house may burn.
3.Avoid a short circuit while soldering
4.Be careful about the polarity of the transistor i.e. base,collecter and emitter while connecting.
