This clap switch is different from the conventional type available in the market.  The conventional type becomes “ON” when over there is a clap or nimslav  sound.  But this project becomes “ON” by three claps and OFF by two claps eleminating the problems of conventional type.

 

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION AND WORKING

This project has been developed and succesfully Tested OK. at TV Engineers Technical Lab.

 

 

The clap switch available in the market now-a-days becomes ON with a single clap or any similar sound.  As a result the switch becomes ON at times when not intended.

This type of problems are not there in this project as it becomes ON by three claps and OFF by two calps.  This is my this project is named as 3 BY 2 clap switch.  The circuit gives here mainly employes are timer IC 555 and a counter IC CD 4017.  The IC 555 is a popular IC  and can be used as analogue as well digital.  This can also be used in input, output, and CMOS logic artilost.  In this project the IC 555 is used as an astable multivibrator.  When we “clap” the -Mic receives the sound and converts the sound signal to electrical signal.  The signal received by the mic is amplifired by the transistor BC 148 and the amplifired signal is fed to pin No 2 of IC 555.  The output is derived from pin No 3 of the IC 555 and applied to pin No 14 of IC CD 4017.  Here the IC CD4017 Works as a counter IC.  When we clap three time,the output pulse is released through pin No of cw 10 of IC and applied to the relay in a transistor BC148.  By this the relay comes to ON position and the equipment attached to the relay starts working.  When we produce two claps after three claps, the output reaches to pin No 3 and the relay comes OFF position.  As a result, the equipment connected to relay stops No being the gain of the project can be adjusted by the pre-set LIKE.

 

PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING

1.Do not solder the CMOS IC CD4017 directly to PCB Use IC Base.

2.While mounting Transistors, solder its Base collector and emitter properly.  Do not charge the polarity

3.Do not charge the polarity of the condenser 33mfd Connected to pin No 6 of IC 555

4.In order to avoid short circuit clean the PCB before and after soldering.
