2B-WATER COOLER ALARM
This project is very useful for homes as well as shops. When we pour water into water cooler, we do not know, whether water reached upto the leval of motor. Such a project warns when the water level is nearing pump motor. Thus it saves the motor from buring as well as prevents current leakage.
TECHNICAL DESCRIIPTION AND WORKING:-
This project has been developed and successfully tested OK in TV Engineer Technical Lab.
Generally we use bucket or motor to fill water into cooler. While pouring water,it is difficult to know whether the water level has reached the danger mark [up to the level of pump motor] or not. We are giving here a project which gives a sound alarm when the water level reaches danger mark and the alarm goes on ringing as long as the water level is above the danger mark. The alarm stops only when the water level comes below the danger mark.
The circuit employs one integrated circuit IC 555. Whenever the metal plate [metal water sensor] comes in contact with water, pin no. 2 of the IC is triggered. As a result the output of IC, which available through pin no.3 is fed to the speaker to produce sound. The circuit is an example of a stable operation which charges and discharges through C2 [.1 mfd] R1 10K or variable resistance VR2 47K. The duty cycle of IC can be varied through the preset VR2 22K. This preset connected to pin no. 4 of C also perfroms the function of OFF/ON. The circuit operates on a 9 V DC.
PRECAUTIONS WHILE ASSEMBLING THE PROJECT:-
- Mount all the components as the circuit specification.
- Check polarity of capacitor while mounting.
- Use IC base for mounting IC 555. Otherwise the IC may damage due to leakage of soldering iron.
