You can decorate your home / shops with this magnificent, attractive electronic clock. During night , it appears still more attractive. This clock does not stop even if there is power failure. The current consumption of this clock is very low and particularly when there is power failure, the consumption is still low as the LEDs do not glow but clock goes on operating.
TECHNICAL DESCRIIPTION AND WORKING:-
This project has been developed and successfully tested OK in TV Engineer Technical Lab.
Here the project given is that of a Digital clock which employs integrated circuit IC 1 MM 5369 & IC 2 MM 5387. This circuit is dependent on Quartz Control Divider Circuit. A crystal X1 3.579545 is connected in between pin no. 5 & 6 of IC 1 MM 5367 again a variable capacitor [trimmer] 5.30 PF is connected to crystal. This variable capacitor can also be replaced by a 22 PF capacitor . IC 5387 is a 40 pin IC & the LEDs are connected to the output pins of the IC.
The technical description of the IC MM 5387 is given below:
- 50 or 60 Hz operation.
- Single Power Supply.
- Provision of setting 24 hours alram.
This circuit operates on 12 V DC & the supply is given to pin no. 28. The 12 V DC is derived from 220 V AC. 1 1000mfd/25V is used for the purpose of filteration. This clock can also cope with the voltage fluctuation ranging from 8 to 20 V . IC MM5359 produces the reference frequency of 60 Hz which is fed to the pin no. 35 of main [clock] IC MM 5387. Pin No. 36 of the main IC decides whether the reference frequency is of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Pin No. 33 or 34 of main IC MM 5387 decides slow first continum and when we process the slow button, one hour is retarded by 30 seconds and when we press the fast button, the reverse happens, i.e, the clock is advanced.
